This week has seen record numbers of new Covid-19 cases in Luton, with 27 infections confirmed on Thursday, 28 on Wednesday, 12 on Tuesday and 32 on Monday.

The number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 41,936 - rising by 32.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new restrictions which came into effect on Thursday to curb the rising tide in new Covid-19 infections across the country.
