Woman rescued from flat fire in High Town

A woman was rescued from her flat in High Town after a fire broke out yesterday (Sunday) evening.

Crews from Dunstable Stopsley and Luton community fire stations were sent to Elgar Path shortly after 8pm.

A Beds Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Yesterday at 8:11pm, we attended a fire in the first floor flat of a three-storey building in Elgar Path.

"We rescued one female casualty and placed her in the care of the ambulance service.

"We sent three appliances from Luton, Dunstable and Stopsley who used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and one jet."
