Hockwell Ring ABC enjoy a fine turnout at their charity show
The event not only doubled as the club’s annual dinner show but was also as a fundraiser for the Luton & Dunstable Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with a cheque soon to be presented for help with improving their facilities.
There were three wins and three defeats for Hockwell Ring boxers on the night as Bobby Stockwell (77kg) beat Jordan Hornblow (76kg) from Nomads on points.

Hide AdMeanwhile Tyrone Midson, 17, (62kg) was too good for Abid Safi (Neasden, 61kg), as was Jowad Ilyas, 13, (40kg), in his victory over Alfie Gwilla (St Albans, 40kg).
However, Josh Gates, 17, (71kg) lost to Atheq Ahmed, 16, (72kg) from Blackbird Leys, while Anthony Pike, 13, (51kg) went down to Lewis Brown, 13, (49kg) from St Albans, and Jalell Ilyas, 13 (40kg) was defeated by Robert Tanner, 13 (39kg).
Other bouts on the night saw Mark Smith (March BC) beat Edward Smith (Royston BC), while AJ Desmond won as did Kyle Francis (Dale Youth BC) against Sahil Butt (Strike 06).
Ashley Banks (Banbury ABC) saw off the challenge of Joe Steed (March BC), while Shola Anyia (Neasden) defeated Shaun Simpson (March ABC).
