After coming through the ranks to make his debut in May 2008, Howells went on to become a first team regular with the club, playing his part in Town winning promotion back into the Football League before his departure in the summer of 2016. However, who would he select in his all-time best XI from players that pulled the Luton shirt on with him? The Luton News looks at just who made the final cut.
1. GK: Mark Tyler
For pretty much the whole of my Luton career, he was one hell of a goalkeeper and a top professional to go with it.
2. RB: Kevin Foley
Didnt get much playing time with him, but he had so much ability and rightfully went on to get a good move up the leagues.
3. LB: Sol Davis
Coming through the youth as a left back, I had the privilege of learning from Sol as a player and also to be his boot boy. He looked after me on the Christmas bonus still even if I was playing instead of him!
4. CB: Steve McNulty
The big man who was easily the best centre half in the Conference and he could have easily played centre midfield with how good on the ball he was. He was the leader in the defence!
